Formed in Curitiba - PR, 1992. The Ox Papaya began in December 1992. His first official presentation was in Curitiba in Concert Festival, which had participated actively as one of the creators, the underrated rock incetivando Curitiba. On December 92, he recorded his first demo-tape containing one song: "Ivo saw the grape." The demo had great acceptance by critics. In February of 93 Records EP "Anal Destroyer" by Bloody Seal Records. The EP is very well spoken in the press (In one of the editions of Casseta and Planet Bussunda publishes a text praising the compact). In the same month the song "Pecilothermic gummy" is transformed into a music video and soon becomes one of the most famous democlips MTV. The song "Captain Gabiru" is played on many radio stations "rock" of Brazil, becoming one of the "hits" of the banda. On August 93 the band recorded the demo "Shokoburs Papaya", receiving accolades from everywhere, being very well accepted by magazines like Top Rock, Dynamite, Rock Brigade, etc.. In issue # 3 of the revised General demo is listed as one of the most sold in Brazil. On March 94 launches the second videoclip: "Happy buggies." The video is very well regarded and considered by many one of the craziest videos ever made and different in Brazil. The video won the MTV up to participate in one of the vignettes of the station. On May 94, after getting support of the Cultural Foundation of Curitiba with the sponsorship of Caixa Economica Federal, the band produces a vídemo 35mm clip for the song "Kronkanildo." Directed by the greatest master of horror alive: José Mojica Marins, the Coffin Joe. The video premiered on MTV in the early 95 and has given the talk in all media (including magazines and Get Set, as well as major newspapers in the country), and has even been shown in American theaters (LA, New York, New Jersey) by Coffin Joe, who is enshrined there among cinephiles, and known as Coffin Joe. During the 94 Ox Papaya became more mingled with the stage. Her show visceral and schizophrenic received praise for all places he has visited, including major festivals this year as Juntatribo (SP), SuperDemo (RJ) and Big (Ctba) and even playing alongside big names of the new Brazilian rock, as Raimundos, Chico Science, Planet Hemp, Bilge Rats, etc.. 

That same year the Ox Papaya joined with the bands Resist Control, Woyzeck and Magog in fellowship named Lettuce. The movement has given the talk. On November 94 the band completed a CD of this project. With 4 songs each banda Lettuce CD came out in early 95 by independent label headed by the Titans and Carlos Eduardo Miranda, Toothless, which is distributed by Warner Music of Brazil and has already launched Raimundos, Mundo Livre S / A and Little Quail and the Mad Birds. The album has had great response from both audiences and critics, including the release show that packed the large Aeroanta curitibano and left gaping journalists André Forastieri, Ricardo Alexandre and directors of Toothless. On September 95 the Ox Papaya launches to quench their thirst demotape one that bears the name of "Freaks" very well received in the middle alternative. For those who do not know the Ox Papaya is one of rock bands with a particular sound more '90s. Jack Endino, producer who "discovered" Nirvana and Mudhoney, cited the band as one of the best I've heard here. Lyrics that mock daily life on a sound that mixes ska, hard rock and Brazilian rhythms. Flipping the SKA WITH PAULERA independent CD in September, the band is looking for a label to release it on a large scale. Along with the CD also debut on MTV, the new clip filmed on 16mm, "Pingolim." Currently the band is touring across the country promoting his CD. Wait in your city!
