Means: PUBLIC CALAMITY
Genre(s): Hardcore / Poppy Punk
Formed in São Bernardo do Campo - SP, 2004. Originally from São Bernardo do Campo, the Public Calamity emerged as a means of mass awareness in an attempt to combat conformity, and express all contained and suppressed the revolt in the minds of today's society. The current lineup is the result of the recent completion of the banda Prole Neglect, in January 2004. At the time, the band had Jerome (vocals and guitar), Robson (guitar and vocals), Ge (bass and vocals) and Fabio (Gobber) - (drums). With the departure of Jerome and Ge, on the eve of a scheduled sound, the band performed hastily with Robson on vocals, and bassist Stevan, just to fulfill the commitment. The result was better than expected, and served as fuel for Robson and Gobber reformulate the songs of the old training (since their ideas were more like that of the early components), and work on new compositions. After two months, comes bassist Adriano, who takes his place in the first final test, even without ever touching a low (guitarist was before), due to the ease with which he found the instrument, and to adapt quickly to the sound and ideals the band. The band even tried to find new singers, but various attempts have shown that a formation of three components would be ideal. Then comes the actual formation of Public Calamity (the band performed with the names and Social Portrait Social Break, before signing), with Robson on guitar and vocals, Adriano on bass and vocals, and Gobber the battery. The influences of members in common (such as the Ramones, Stiff Little Fingers, Cholera, Dysrhythmia, Replicants, DZK, etc.). Helped rapid development of sounds, and in about three months, a sixteen sounds own repertoire of social was ready, and the result is the band's first demo, entitled "Another Face. The band, who have already played alongside greats national punk rock, as DZK, Dysrhythmia, Homeland Armada, and other self-management, has been performing in bars do Grande ABC and Sao Paulo, leaving his mark wherever he goes, with sincerity of his lyrics and the simplicity of their presentations. The Public Calamity continues on its trajectory, even at the beginning, with lyrics that express the outrage of those who grew up amid the exploitation and domination of a minority ruling class, and trying to act as a means of mass awareness humiliated daily in our country.
