Formed in São Paulo - SP, 2005. The band name was inspired by the story of Santa Beatriz, a Portuguese nun who, by a miracle, her beauty had 20 years of age retained until age 60. The word Beatrix is the name of the saint in Latin and means "one who brings joy." The band formed by Aura Lyris (vocals), Lize Borba (rhythm guitar, vocals), Vinicius Souza (lead guitar), Bruno Espindola (bass) and Thiago Augustini (drums), began in April 2005 and released their first and so far only album in 2007. While receiving influences from nu metal, Beatrix is not considered a band of unique style. "There are no New Metal or Heavy Metal Underground, we do not have labels. We just want to say what we think, to speak of our ideology of life and use the music for it, "says Borba Lize. No doubt, he who hears the sound of the band noticed in the personality of the lyrics and arrangements, that what differentiates Beatrix of the bands is just common ideology. Beatrix is not just a band or a style. Beatrix is Beatrix, and alone.
