Genre(s): Heavy Metal / Hard´n´Heavy
Formed in
Florianópolis - SC, 1978. The Burn, the most famous band of "Heavy Rock" Florianópolis of all time, he returned to active duty in 2001. A decade after "quit" career, Burn launched in late 2001 a demo CD titled "Sacred Rock` n `Roll". The trajectory of Burn merges with the beginnings of hard rock in Florianópolis. It was literally the first banda style emerging in the region and make it big among the "rockers" that "literate" in Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath and then have "graduated" in "Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Motörhead etc..
The group's leader, guitarist Rudy Silva, 41 years old (born 08/18/1960 in Laguna), says it all started when I was 14 years old in 1974. Won a cassette tape of a colleague. In this tape, first heard the song "Immigrant Song" from album "Led Zeppelin # 3." He was fascinated. Led, went to Deep Purple. This last band had a song that was literally "incarnate". It was the song "Burn" ("Burn" in English). That's where Victor was inspired to baptize his band - "Burn." The Burn effectively emerged in 1978 (*) with regular rehearsals. Account Rudy Silva who at the time Florianópolis was a "desert" for those who like heavy rock. There were bands, the genre had no shows, barely could buy records this musical style in rare shops that kept some stock of the genre. "When I wanted to ride my banda Burn, heavy rock, my friends discouraged claiming it was better to invest in discoteque, fashion of the time," says Silva. The bands of the time were in Florianópolis: Ingenuity, Rural Express, Ratones (which later became the Shark), Neutron Band (progressive jazz) and Asa Bat. Already the 4th dimension of Itajai, had some success among the youth of the capital of Santa Catarina. "The Burn opened the door to hard rock," says Márcio. The Burn was formed by brothers Rudy (guitar) and Victor Celso Silva (bass). The first drummer was Hudson Soares (**), Márcio friend, who left the band in 1984, after the death of his father. He was replaced by Lise. Later, the latter handed the sticks to Cau, Silvinho brother, a renowned band dances in Florianópolis, Lugphil. Before it was bassist Márcio; Victor played guitar. Switched instruments. Márcio Vitor turned guitarist and bassist. The Burn was a novelty in Florianópolis. The brothers lived in the street Councilman Silva Batista Pereira, paragraph 4, in the Strait, Florianópolis. The class that enjoyed heavy rock met up on Saturday afternoon in front of the college Aderbal Ramos da Silva, in the Strait. From there they journeyed to the house of the brothers Silva. They were gathered in front of the house. A bar in the neighborhood sold beer to the class of "hairy" who talked and listened to the trials of Burn, which occurred from 16:00 to 18:00. "We rehearsed in the room. Desmontávamos beds to install the instruments. Personnel stood outside listening because I had no place to everyone in the house," recalls Rudy. This class used to visit the same house on weekdays, from 21:00, to talk about rock. The first concert took place in the Burn Federal Technical School in Fpolis (***). "The teachers were impressed," says Silva, who was a student at that establishment. In the second show, in 1981, the theater Good Bosco in South River, was packed. The Burn promoted a show a year in each city, always packed house. Presented in Florianopolis, Itajai, Laguna, Blumenau, Crickhowell, South River and Laguna. In a release titled "Prelude to a band rocker" without indicating the date, found in the personnel file of Vitor Silva, set some dates for shows performed by the band Burn.
