Formed in Lajeado - RS, 2005. With members from the cities of Arroyo Middle and Paved, in Rio Grande do Sul, Corrosive is a band that rose from the ashes of two others. One of them, who did cover Slayer, Obituary, Six Feet Under, Sepultura and Venom came the members James Steiner (then vocalist) and Diego Bianchetti (then guitarist). The other, which did cover of Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Silverchair and Stone Temple Pilots, came William Eckhardt (drummer). With the absence of a bassist, James Steiner goes to play this instrument well. And as a trio the band remains today. The start date of the activities was a meeting day 22/05/2005, and decided that the priority was to compose their own material. As yet there were other bands, it was treated as a project. From the beginning the concern was to heavy and aggressive music with quality, mixing different influences of the members. Unlike the normal metal bands, was chosen to Portuguese lyrics. Initially named Cerberus, did some presentations by the Vale do Taquari. But as there was already a band with the same name, was eventually decided to change the name to Corrosive, which is the title of one of the first songs written by the group. In 2006, part of the renowned Festival of Bands UNIVATES, to qualify as a finalist band. For this occasion, presented the music itself "Inquisition" and the cover was chosen "Brujerismo", the Mexican band Brujeria. In 2007, Corrosive into the studio to record their first demo. Were recorded four songs: "Dying", "Predator", "Inquisition" and "Corrosive". The year 2008 marks the beginning of intense release of the demo. Making presentations in various cities of the state, is consolidating its name in the underground gaucho. Still in the same year participated in the compilation Web.Hell II, the Free Mind Media.

In 2009 the band back to writing and recording new songs, opting to do less presentations. Participates in more compilations and split releases "Execution" along with fellow Gaucho Evil Emperor, having 4 songs from each band on this record.
