Formed in São Paulo - SP, 2000. Destra The band had their embryo in 1997 with the name of Aquila , as bassist Ricardo Parronchi was a hard rock band with the same name still formed by Tulio Regis , former workshop G3 ( vocals) , Dico , former Katsbarnea (guitar ) today playing with Catalau ( ex - Coup ) and Victor Alexander (drums ) . With the end of the band , Ricardo Parronchi decided to assemble a progressive rock band , still using the name Aquila , since the idea had been his name . The idea was to make a heavy sound but with enough melody , mixing metal and progressive rock , and other styles such as jazz, blues and MPB . The lyrics would be sung in English and although not religious , directly or indirectly , all possess a Christian message . It took one year until it was found that the members would be trained to the first record in the studio , a demo titled "Out of the game" , which included 4 songs , and had his education in Douglas Vanuchi ( vocals) , Eduardo Parronchi , brother of bassist (guitar ) , Victor Alexander (drums ) , Ricardo Parronchi ( bass) and Mark Ian ( guest musician , keyboard ), after recording the demo Victor left the band and in its place then enters Fabio Fernandes ( ex -Portrait .) with a demo in hand the band gets a contract with Megahard Records for an album full , however due to some differences the band changes the stamp in the middle of recordings and signs with Destroyer Records , ending the recording of the CD at the end 1999, and as co -producer guitarist Heros Trench ( Korzus ) and with Mark Ian counting as a guest on keyboards . Changing the name to Destra , the band then launches in January 2000 his 1st CD Sea of Doubt , containing 10 songs , the work received a great response from the public and critics and was highly praised by all the magazines and specialized sites , including overseas . After the CD release , the band does several tests with keyboardists and finally gets a fixed keyboard , Marcelo Saorim then performing concerts in various cities and states of Brazil , being invited to cable TV and radio programs like BACKSTAGE ( the legendary Vitão Bonesso ) BRAZIL in 2000. During 2001 , the band had a fairly significant decline with Douglas Vanuchi departure of vocalist , the band was nearly exhausted your CD and several shows scheduled when it happened . fulfill some commitments after the singer left the band for personal reasons and definitely after a few months of testing the substitute Ricardo would Cassau but by scheduling problems he would not stay long in the band . Without further delay as the band calls then José Ricardo ( former lead singer of Dream Theater cover) , as a guest to sing 2 songs for the bonus CD re-release Sea of Doubt singer . with him the band played some shows and even take part in the " Tribute to the Viper and the Creek " event, which featured some of the top metal bands in the country. worth remembering that Destra was widely praised by André Matos own ( ex - Angra vocalist and currently the Shaman ) , including being quoted on their official website , it was in this period that the band began to have the idea of doing a concept CD with various vocalists participating. band still do several tests with vocalists coming to retell Ricardo Silva and Alexandre Cassau for some shows, then in 2002 began pre -production of the rock " Joe's Rhapsody " opera and it was then that the band met singer Neno Fernando (currently in Abstract Shadows ) , the singer participated in the pre-production on some songs, was invited to sing in the music video " You Should Believe" ( this version was included on the CD 2nd collection of Metal Mission ) . During this time keyboardist Marcelo Saorim left the band , being replaced in some time for Maxsuel Rodrigo ( Divine Works ) , which quickly adapted the band , actively participating in new compositions the band . Neno the singer also took part of the song " Dry Way " ( for the project " the Book of Exodus " , splitting vocals with Ricardo Parronchi ) and made a cameo in the song " Mother , Father " for the Journey tribute band , since most of the song was sung by bassist . too did several shows with the group , including having a critically acclaimed performance in tribute the band Stryper , which had in its cast the biggest metal bands of white on the national scene , but despite having a beautiful voice , his melodic style did not fit with the band , who was taking a markedly towards seventies , which made the band again began to search for a new vocalist. During this time bassist Ricardo Parronchi was recording the song " Waiting in God " with some friends , that would be the entrance music project " the Book of Exodus " ( as the band invited to work , the Stauros can not attend at the last minute because a low of 3 members had happened ) when he met a vocalist who caught his attention just by having a tone and style of singing that was very different than it was watching the scene at the time, remembered for his voice very hard rock vocalists of the 70s , vocalist Rodrigo Grecco . Ricardo then invited him to sing the song of the project , the result was so satisfactory that Rodrigo was invited to join Destra 's band. During this time the band left their old label in 2003 and closed a contract in partnership with two labels ( Avantage and Frontline Records ) , and after recording the instrumental and some appearances by guest vocalists , along with the label first band decided to release a version of " Joe's Rhapsody " (scheduled for early February ) with Rodrigo sharing vocals with bassist Ricardo , thus showing the new phase of the band , however not abandoning the initial idea to release this CD with various vocalists scheduled for the second half of 2004. In 2010 Destra Banda , who starred in progmetal scenario from 2000 to 2006 , would complete 10 years. With this band decided to reunite the original lineup to make a celebratory show. What would just a reunion resulted in the official returns of the Band.
