Formed in Guarulhos - SP, 1997. Started in 1997, Chipset Zero mixes different styles within traditional metal and thrash metal with elements of electronic music, alternative rock, rap, industrial and afro-brazilian percussion. Current band formation is Shark - vocals and percussion, Ayka - bass and backing vocals, Ronny - guitar and backing vocals, Ale - samplers, Jaime - percussion and Jamil - drums. The band has performed in many different places and to very large crowds and has been ranking high among Brazilian and international bands. In June, 2001 Chipset Zero went on its first international tour that lasted for 40 days in Argentina with a total of 10 shows, the main show being the opening band for Australian white metal band Mortification. On the way back to Brazil, filmed the TV show “Musikaos”, for Cultura Channel, next to the biggest Brazilian heavy metal band, Sepultura. Between August and December 2001 the band toured several Brazilian cities, including São Paulo on the “Por La Union Del Latino-America” tour featuring Argentinean band Human. In July 2002 Chipset Zero opens for Canadian metalcore band Figure Four in Piracicaba/ SP. In February 2003 the band gets its first award, the Rock Mix Show’s “Destak Mix Trophy” in São Paulo e the song “Friends are Killers” is aired on 89FM. Chipset Zero continues to tour Brazil and in May kicks off the “Vai tomar no Tour” with Jesus Martyr and Ban-This. At the end of the year started the filming of the “Don..t cut my fingers” clip, directed by Fernando Sanches (Nação Zumbi, Nitrominds, Gilberto Gil) and release their first CD entitled “Deep Blue” in São Paulo. In May 2004 the CD ranked 3rd place in the Dynamo Magazine Awards for the best metal CD alongside Krisiun and Sepultura; to follow a new international tour is kicked off throughout Chile. In February 2005 they play on the Palco do Rock Festival in Bahia in front of 3.000 people, in May play Madera Festival for 10.000 people in Rondonia and in September play the Chimera Music Festival in São Paulo for 30.000 sharing the stage with Korzus, Sepultura and the main attraction, Slipknot. Chipset Zero already has two video clips on the air on MTV an through it, recorded a special theme song for the MTV News during the World Cup Soccer and were part od the “Banda Antes” show with a live televised concert. Their first cinema experience came with two songs, “Cable Mind” and “Plasma Spark” that were chosen to be in a documentary film called “Playground – The Movie”, about polish snowboarders in the Swiss alps. Austria, Poland and Slovakia. 2007 was the year chosen to produce their second album, “Red – O – Matic”; this album counts with special guests like Edu Ardanuy (Dr. Sin) and vocalist Egypcio (Tihuana) and was produced by the California native Brendan Duffey and Adriano Daga. Chipset Zero is currently in contact with record labels and preparing to shoot two promotional video clips for Red–O–Matic.
