ABSTRACT SHADOWS

The Abstract Shadows  band arose in the middle of 1999 [São Paulo – São Paulo] created by Alberto Lima (Guitar) and Hélvio Poletti (Bass) previously the bands name was just “Abstract”, making its name to be known little by little, and getting respect from the first-rate bands. In 2002, the band had changed its original name to “Abstract Shadows”, on account of the existence of an older band with that name. At first, the musicians had a preference for doing a very experimental sound, quite instrumental, going towards the classic music and progressive, set as a power-trio (guitar, bass guitar and drums). After the arrival of the keyboarder José Cardillo (Holy Sagga), they began to compose new songs, without worry about styles and models. One year later, came to the group the drums player Marco Aurélio (Who had carriedout a work with the guitar man Walmir Tavares). Just after the admission of the vocalist Luciana Vidal, the first rehearsals started, mixing experiences and talents to complete the band even more. In 2001 the Abstract Shadows was invited to record a official tribute to Dream Theater, what was made beside a select team of national bands. In June, 2002, got in the group the vocalist Neno Fernando (former Destra). With his admission a new time began to the band, going towards the vocal compositions with the Ep´s lyrics written by the new vocalist, started the first official record. Finished the Ep´s work of record, which is homonymous and has five tracks, the band went on its journey composing even six new songs. With the band set up, its work began to walk towards the record of an official cd. In February [2007], the first cd "Symphony Of Hakel" was completed.
