Formed
in Goiânia, Goiás - 2008. The ApósMortem is a Brazilian band of nu metal, the
original city of Goiania-GO, formed in October 2008. Do not have an exact date
because it emerged from several meetings between members Lucio Salazar (guitar,
vocals), Marcelo Martins (voice) and Lui Alexander (drums). The band's name had
not yet been chosen. Initially guitarist Lucio suggests Postmortem (Latin,
after the death). However, Marcelo stated that it was a band with the same
name. Even in Latin, were suggested and VoxMortem MotMortem. Already in
English, Life 'n Death. However, none of them conveyed the idea of the
band. Marcelo then suggests a neology, putting half of the Portuguese name
(After) and half in Latin (Mortem) ApósMortem. Set the name, Marcelo create the
logo, made by eclipse and the cross. The eclipse is the passage from day to
night, coupled with the transition from life to death and the epic conflict
between good and bad. The cross represents the interface between them, death
itself. Vinicius Ferreira, Marcelo's friend, was invited to play bass while
ApósMortem working on their first demo "Between Heaven and Hell."
During the recordings, guitarist Luke Darkon, Rose's Tears (Rio Verde-GO), was
invited to play guitar. The band debuted at a Festival on April 10, 2009, which
were released the patch with the name of the band, the official t-shirt and
demo consists of three tracks: 1 - Between Heaven and Hell (first single) 2 -
Initiative ( first official video clip) 3 - The Darkness guitarist Luke Darkon,
despite having interest in these recordings and the show's debut, left the band
to continue his work with Tears Roses. Soon after, the percussionist Kaio César
joined the band, which participated in more than one event on May 31, 2009. The
band had plans to organize and hold an event on October 31, 2009, to celebrate
his birthday and Halloween. For reasons of force majeure, the members Vinicius
Ferreira (bass) and Kaio César (drums) had to leave the band at the end of
2009. The band spent several months conducting tests to check the new bassist.
In March 2010, Sancho Rabelo joined the band so that the activities were
completely restored. New presentations were made and new songs were composed
also contributing to the album "Between Heaven and Hell." A year
later, Lucio Salazar decides to leave the band to work on a new project.
