Genre(s): Progressive / Power Metal
Formed in São Bernardo do Campo, São
Paulo - 1996. In mid 1996, aiming to draw up their own songs with
influences from bands like Iron Maiden and Deep Purple, five friends started
the band Swipe (Rogerio Souza, Rodrigo Barros, Paulo Chostakovis, Leonardo and
Carlos Eduardo Sakae). Playing in some pubs in the region, released that same
year a demo called Beginning. With the departure of some members (Paul
Chostakovis, Leonardo and Carlos Eduardo Sakae) thus emerged a new formation
that has been influenced by the entry of two new members: Glaucio Cancion (bass)
and Jean Carlos (guitar). With this lineup played in clubs in our Great ABC
where they participated in a contest honoring Bands Covers the already
established band Helloween in the festival held by the Bar Volkana - Sao
Bernardo do Campo - SP. Because of conflicting ideals in early 2002 the singer
Rodrigo Barros no longer part of the group and goes to his solo career. Space
for the entry of three new members: Ricardo Vanlazar (vocals), Renato Sotto
(guitar) and Rafael Carvalho (Keyboard) giving rise to the band Arghon. In
Brazil in 2002 with the intention of releasing a CD of original songs with
influences from bands already renowned melodic Heavy Prog and nationally and
internationally, the band was born Arghon. With determination in the same year
the band released its first working demo CD "Visions of the Future."
Containing four tracks with a touch of Heavy Melodic and Progressive, it turns
to be the main material for the dissemination of the band, opening doors for
participation in festivals in the Greater ABC and in the capital city. With
excellent public acceptance Arghon becomes the winner of the Integral I Rock,
an event held in September 2002 by the USP and the now defunct Radio Brazil in
2002, competed in this event with over 50 bands from various Brazilian states,
where he held the prize as opening act for bands Angra and CPM22 to an audience
of over 2500 people. With the prominence achieved by the First Integral of the
Rock, the band continued to perform in various bars and nightclubs in São Paulo.
In 2003 Arghon participated in the selection process for SP Music Festival
competing with more than 150 national bands, an event that was attended by an
audience of over 7200 people. After performing in this festival, Arghon wins
the first event in the choice made by the audience and jury. In 2004 after a
restructuring, the band begins to devote himself to writing new songs and the
production of a CD more elaborado.Com the junction of musical influences of the
members and the experience gained in 2007 is released the CD containing eight
tracks Equilibrium, with 04 new songs. So the band starts to be disseminated
beyond the borders of Brazil, being evaluated by specialized websites in Heavy
Metal in several countries. Currently the band releases its work is making
