ARK OF SIN

Formed in Fortaleza, Ceará - 2000. 2000: Andrey Chaves (bass / vocals) and Diego Lucena (guitar / vocals) formed a punk band called Zapata. Along with them, David Clark is the drummer. After a show (which actually did not), the band decides to change the name to Felsen. Thiago Jota joins as second guitarist. The Felsen record a demo CD, containing seven tracks, a mixture of RxDxP with Extreme Noise Terror and Napalm Death. 2001: After several concerts under the name of Felsen and some recognition within the undeground, the band once again changes and formation of musical style, now being realized as a metal band. On drums enter Pedro Neto, who had played with other bands in Lucena Diego. Since then, the band changed its name to Ark of Sin and also changing their musical approach. Influenced by bands of melodic death and black metal (Children of Bodom, In Flames, Borknagar), Ark of Sin part to compositions further elaborated, highlighting the melodies of guitars and drums at speed. Gabriel Andrade is invited to be the band's keyboardist and accepted immediately. Year 2002: Is this the year that Ark of Sin writes music as Determinisn of Greed and Walking By The Night. After several shows (including Thrash Metal Attack IV and Metal On Metal) posting their music, the band recorded the EP "Where Evil Lies," with six tracks. After the release of this material, guitarist and band founder, Diego Lucena just leaving for personal reasons. 2003: With the departure of Diego Lucero, Ark of Sin decides to bring Adauto Bezerra on guitar. The band makes the opening act of Hangar (RS) and comes in two northeastern states: Christmas and Piauí (these shows, the band enjoyed the support of guitarist Yuri Leite, since they could not travel Adauto), being very well received and acclaimed by the public outside of Ceara. Again, the band lost guitarist. Adauto out, also for personal reasons. This year, more music is added to the repertoire: Mohamed. Year 2004: Enters Eduardo Melo (former Somberlain), assuming the guitars Ark of Sin. During this period the band recorded the promo-cd "Fearless" with two new songs: The Martyr and Fearless. The recording quality and technical level of the band made the Ark of Sin became one of the greats of the Ceara metal scene. Again, the band lost guitarist. Eduardo Melo left the band. Year 2005: Ironically, Diego Lucena get back to the band and (re) taking the guitar next to Thiago Jota. With the original lineup and the future in mind, the band has a repertoire ready to be released in the form of full length cd, due out in early 2006.
