Formed in Porto Alegre - RS, 1990. DISTRAUGHT is a brazilian Thrash Metal band, founded in february of 1990. It released in the same year “To Live Better”, its first demo tape; In 1994, Distraught released a Split EP, with two bands from Sao Paulo, by "Ultimate Encore Records", the band members were: Andre Meyer - vocals, Fernando Soares - Guitars, Alexandre Figueiro - bass, Hugo Lobo - Drums. In 1995, the band recorded another demo tape, "Advance Tape 95"; With a totally independent production, in 1998, Distraught records its first full-length, "Nervous System"; 2001 - The band releases their classic album "Infinite Abyssal", by "Encore Records"; with band members Andre Meyer - vocals, Everson Krentz - Drums, Ricardo Silveira - Lead Guitar, Marcos Machado -Rhythm Guitar, Gustavo Stuepp - Bass. A year later, Distraught recorded a Live cd, "Live in Black Jack - SP", in Sao Paulo (BR); Distraught played in many places in Brazil to promote the releases, such as: Rio Grande do Sul, Parana, Sao Paulo, Minas Gerais, Espirito Santo and two concerts in Montevideo (Uruguay); In 2004, the band releases "Behind The Veil"(Marquee Records), produced by Fabiano Penna. Andre Meyer - vocals, Everson Krentz - Drums, Ricardo Silveira - Lead Guitar, Marcos Machado -Rhythm Guitar, Gustavo Stuepp - Bass. The band goes on tour, passing through Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro again, and through the north of Brazil, in places like: Para, Bahia, Sergipe, Pernambuco, etc. Distraught had already shared the stage with really important metal bands, from many countries, bands like: MEGADETH, TANKARD, DESTRUCTION, KRISIUN, VADER, CRIMINAL, REBAELLIUN, DROWNED, HIBRIA, TORTURE SQUAD, etc; The band is also known by their strong personality and perseverance. April, 2007. Distraught wins the "Wacken Open Air Metal Battle" in Porto Alegre, in Sao Paulo, the band was one of the five finalists. Gustavo Stuepp quits, and Nelson Casagrande joins the band; "Unnatural Display of Art" is the title of the 4th album, released in 2009. Andre Meyer - vocals, Everson Krentz - Drums, Ricardo Silveira - Lead Guitar, Marcos Machado -Rhythm Guitar, Nelson Casagrande - Bass; The lyrics are about the human violence, and the many ways men use it for their own benefit; Some special guests were called for this recording, like the guitarrist Diego Kasper(ex-Hibria), on "Hellucinations", Clark(Unmaker) and Flavio Soares(Leviaethan), did the backing vocals on "The End of Times"; It was recorded at studio Live(Porto Alegre/Brazil), mixed and mastered at "Mr. Som studio"(Sao Paulo/Brazil), by Heros Trench and Marcelo Pompeo(Korzus); VOICE MUSIC did the distribution in Brazil, and SPIRITUAL BEAST in Japan. On September, 2009, Distraught went on a tour in Argentina, playing in Buenos Aires, Cordoba and Rosario. Everson Krentz quits Distraught. Dionatan Britto(Dio) is the new drummer. On April 2010, the band supported MEGADETH's concert in Porto Alegre, months later the band was invited to another Argentina Tour; The band dedicated 2011 to compose a new album, "The Human Negligence is Repugnant", full of rage and reality. Recordings went through december 2011 and january 2012 at Studio Navarro(Porto Alegre/Brazil), with mixing and mastering at Mr.Som studio(Sao Paulo/Brazil).
