AKASHIC

Genre(s): Symphonic Progressive Metal

Formed in Caxias do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul - 1998. Coming from Caxias do Sul / RS, the band originated from the Akashic De Ros trio, composed by Marcos De Ros (guitar), Fabio Alves (bass) and Stecanela Sandro (drums), who after throwing two good albums, they decided to incorporate new elements to the band's sound, and they called the lead singer and keyboardist Rafael Gubert Eder Bergoza. Drummer Mauricio Meinert soon enter the place of Sandro Estecanella. The first demo CD, "Timeless Realm", was recorded in 1998. The songs show an excellent Progressive Metal with Oriental influences, classical and even Brazilian rhythms, all at the dose and timing. The production is much higher than expected from a demo CD. The guitar work is fantastic, with brilliant solos, without falling into the hype of today's virtuosos and mingled well with the keyboards, which in turn explore different sounds than we hear in most current bands of this style. The kitchen work is cohesive and accurate, and vocals by Rafael Gubert are very well done, no raids and exaggerated with melodies that are beyond the sameness that reigns in this style lately. The main virtue of this work is that the band can be extremely creative without falling in exaggerations and lack of identity that plague the bands style. The highlight is the epic "Who Am I?" (With a special participation of a soprano) and "Vasana kaya. In 1999 the band recorded another self-titled demo cd with 3 songs, simply perfect. They bring a little more metal, but without neglecting the Progressive and all the features of the first cd. It is impossible not to get excited about "Gates Of Firmament" and not be moved to "Memories." In 2001, Akashic released the CD Timeless Realm, by Hellion Records, with excellent reviews from critics. The band's second album is "Brand New Day", produced by Luis Barros and released by Hellion Records label in 2005. The title suggests a new phase of the band who sought new sounds much higher identity in the composition. There are ten songs with great energy and lots of all kind. The production of Luis Barros brought accuracy in this search and highlighted the talent of the group. After 10 years since its establishment in 1998 the progressive metal band Gaucho AKASHIC terminating his musical production. In this trajectory were recorded two albums under copyright, "Timeless Realm" and "A Brand New Day" and held a series of performances in Brazil and Europe. The group ends leaving the audience a DVD, still no release date set, with pictures of the quintet performing key songs from their repertoire.
