ATTOMICA

[attomicaa.jpg]

Genre(s): Thrash Metal

Formed in São José dos Campos, São Paulo - 1985. Known as Attomica (with two 'T's) on the first 3 albums. Then around 2004, altered the name to Atomica (with one 'T'). In 2009, they decided to changed it back to Attomica. According to the band, "It was a mistake done by the previous manager, who was influenced by numerology". Attomica was formed in October 1985 in Sao Jose dos Campos, Sao Paulo, guitarist John Paul and drummer Mario Sanefuji. The idea was to be the fastest band in the world, with riffs and beats never played before. John Paul came from bands like Ether is atrocious. Mario played on Metafel. To complete the training, the pair invited the other members of Metafel, the brothers Andre (bass) and Pyda Rod (guitar) and Laertes Perr (voice). The first compositions were written in Portuguese. Songs like "Violence Bastard”, “Union Carbide” and “Destroy”, were recorded on a demo-tape' recorded at the band's own essay, which was the business card to leave the specialized media and do the first shows. In 1986, the band was invited to record their first LP. New songs were composed and others re-arranged. Yet with English lyrics, all took part in this self-titled disc 'Attomica'. At that time, already known throughout Brazil, including overseas, the band toured the album's release, which showcased the cities of Belo Horizonte, Juiz de Fora, Vitoria, Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo. In early 1988, vocalist Perr Laertes leaves the group, entering his former place Thor, Fabio Moreira. That same year, comprised a material for the second LP, “Limits Of Insanity”,' this by Mushroom Records in 1989. Before starting the sessions, Fabio had to leave the band, causing the bassist Andre Rod take over the vocals. This new line of Attomica made the sound incorporates a new style, very different from the first disc. The tour this time, covered a larger number of cities, among them, Brasilia, Recife and Santos. At the end of this season, Mario Sanefuji was temporarily replaced by drummer Paul Giolo, while spending some time in New York, United States. In mid 1990, more change in training. Sai guitarist Pyda Rod, replaced by brother John Paul, former Megaton, Joao Marcio and Fabio Moreira returned to the vocals. That same year, the Attomica was invited to record their third LP, 'Disturbing the Noise'. Already this album, the band recorded songs in a style almost indescribable, but dubbed by many as 'Ultra Speed'. In late 1991 came the album and a concert tour, which took place in 1992 and 1993. This was the greatest season of concerts Attomica throughout his career. The tour, called 'Noise Tour, had several highlights: concerts in Sao Paulo, Vitoria, Belo Horizonte, and the highest point, opening to two concerts in Brazil Kreator. Another one in Brasilia and Sao Paulo. During the 'Noise Tour', recorded the video clip for the song 'Deathraiser', aired in music programs throughout Brazil, with emphasis on MTV icons like 'Rage Metal' and 'Demo-Clip'. The band returned to active duty in 2002 and signed with the prestigious label Hellion Records by Sao Paulo in 2004 where they released their first live album, 'Back And Alive', which had an excellent reception by the public and press proving that thrash metal is stronger than ever! They changed the name to Atomica and opened shows only the Exodus (SP / SP) and Paul Dianne (S Jose dos Campos) and were very well received! In the first half of 2005, the band again becomes a quartet, since the guitarist Márcio took over the vocals. With this lineup the band recorded in the second half of 2005 some new songs to disclose the current stage. In early 2006, the group signed a licensing agreement under seal brasiliense Kill Again Records for the CD release of his first album, 'Attomica,' which was released on May 10, 2006. So, besides having the tracks on the album fully remastered, bonus received as four new songs ("Mission Dying," "In Hell We Trust," "Step Mother Nature" and "Under Pressure"), which are the first compositions the group since its third album, "Disturbing the Noise" 1991.
